brief case ideas and development and final mock ups
List of ideas I could look in to:
Smooths
Juice
Jams
Exotic wine
Their famous wine in a collation
Chocolate
Bees wax (candles, bee wax wraps, skin care)
Honey
Bees wax is environment friendly but harvest isn't cruelty free.
Jams seem to be sustainable to make as glass can be recycled or repurpose such as the metal lids and jams can be preserved for a long time un open (1 to 2 years) but open can be 2 week to months in a refrigerator. It can also reduce food waste in fruits by making them in to jams as well as it can be used by local restaurants, bakery and store's.
I decided to go with the jams as my product for the brief
here are designs ideas for what the product might look like
I'm still looking into the name for this product such as Berries bears jams or
Bears berries jams
Looking in to how my packaging will be sustainable, glass are sustainable as it has Manny uses after your done using such as storage for food or other stuff or you can DIY it in to something new,
I looked into wash of adhesives as you can see in the concept art some sticker place on jars amid I want to see if there any way to take them off for the jar to be recycled as well as looking into maybe seeded paper to wrap around or some were else to be on the package.
Here I did some mood boards to give ideas of what the Brand and and packaging might look like.
design I made going in more detail of what the jams jar might look like and exploring shapes for the jars and what I want on the packaging
I did do more sketchs for the jar concepts and colour a little bit of what I might go for the final look.
I have looked in to seeded paper and not much result have been found in fruit seeded paper only for flower and vegetables not sure if you can make seeded paper with fruit seeds I the look it there is strawberry seeded paper but the were just few things about it not much information have been found for fruit seeded paper but I'm just assuming it can be done as I seen some seeded paper with strawberry by one person sellers.
I could look into the options such as biodegradable paper bags with the seeds in it that it small to put around the jar such as in the concept art above.
I also looked in to the string that is wrapped around the jar and seeing what is biodegradable what I found is called Jute Twine its made with plant and it fully eco friendly to use its been use for craft and packaging.
here are some logo design I have made I thought doing different bear for different flavour would be a good idea to explore more styles for the logo and see what would fit for the jams.
I did start making a clay model but I yet to have it to the complete and make it look like the concept art and I want to do most of the other versions of the concept art. I decide to scraped the 3d model.
More mood board to help with logo design.
So i explored more into logo design and how I wanted the end result to looked like I did take some notes from people to do more detail with in the logo as show in the top image but I didn't like that as it was too complicated to look at as logos are not drawn with that much detail and I want a simple and fun to look as my main consumer are family's so as u can see ate the lower to image above I like the simple and bold these logos are I enjoyed these one more then ther other and I like how I can change what type of bear to suit the flavor of the jams will look good I'm the designs of that packaging.
I decided to make the mock up of what the jam will looked like for the final product so i used the logo I have al ready made and created many designs with the, the type of jar design I decided to go for art the bear he'd shape design as it a very unique design to go for and most people like to collect thing like this it would be fun to have around the house.
as well as I looked up on about what I could do for the seed paper and saw a way we can harvest the seeds and turned the rest of the fruit in to jams and the seed can be then turned into paper by blending and straining it out the seed from the juice and the liquid can be cooked to jams.
these are the final jams design everything on the jams and it self is 100% recyclable or can be repurposed.
I really liked how the design came out and how it attracts my target audience, I decide to do a paper wrapping around the jars as it be to mush of a hassle to take of a sticker and who know if that can be recycled so I had to looked in to recycled ink to have the design of the print for the jar and also need to look into glue to have the wrapping stick together.
I looked at glue that can be recycled and this website have an in depth research of different type of glue we can used on the paper:https://www.lddavis.com/products/eco-friendly-glue/
as well as this website that tells what eco friendly inks there art to print in: https://www.ecoenclose.com/blog/what-is-the-most-sustainable-ink/.
This was the first design I did for the website but I really disliked it as it didn't look clean and professional so I decided to make a mood bore of professional looking website.
this is the mood bard I made and that I enjoyed the look of,
these are the rough ideas of the web site lay outing will be linked from the jars tag of the QR code, I really like how this looks and how it improve from the last one.
I have update them after some feed back and making it more professional look by making the fruit in the back ground less visible so the text can be read easier and put in a proper text in instead of writing by hand I really like the final looked to them and I hope to achieve the family friendly look to it.
I then started to make advert for this product I wanted it to keep the same look from the website on to the poster and billboards as I want the consumer to recognise it easily as well as trying to put catch phrases to make the product appealing.
I made visual mock ups of what they could look like in real life.
my final thought on this whole project was an interest development in make this idea possible I have achieve from the un sustainable goals as well as I have achieve 100% recyclable within the product and have marketed correctly to my target audience which are families, I wouldn't change much in my development either and the was an experience to help with future projects.
